sometimes, I wish some rules on earth didn't exist...
but it just does...
such as how the government increases GST by 2%, and subsequently increases property taxes as well..
how chewing gum (was) banned and "no eating on the MRT"...
Some of these rules have visible effects, (i.e. our MRT is one of the cleanest transports in the world), but others are virtually incomprehensible...
what people do not understand might be good for them, like how I hated the "no eating on the MRT" rule, and found that it had a meaningless existence - in primary school.
subsequently I became partially grateful - (I still want to eat my breakfast on the train yah!)
Rules are rules, generally for the betterment of mankind, so... the bible is a book of rules.
What we do not understand doesn't mean its wrong.
Like why Jesus has to die for us - (why is a sacrifice even necessary in the first place?)
Like why God and Men are always separated - (if God is almighty, is the seperation necessary in the first place?)
Like why God loves us and would watch us go to hell.
There are lots of stuff we may not understand, and rules within rules within rules...
4 + 4 = 8
means
2 + 2 = 4
means
1 + 1 = 2
all these are fundamental rules, but we can break them down infinitely, and we'll still never see the logic within them..
Earth has day and night
means
Earth moves round the sun
means
Gravitational fields demand that the Earth move in circles round the sun
means
Day and night is directly correlated by gravitational fields
means
... why does gravitational field cause circles? which causes day and night?
... why does the mathematical law cause it to move in circles?
it all boils down to why 1 + 1 = 2.
and so on and so forth.
Law is Law.
Humans do not define natural law, and supernatural law.
Laws will always be there, like it or not.
It is not affected by time, culture, tradition, root or location. And it is standard truth throughout the world.
Law = Truth.
Truth = Law.
Two truths that do not correlate to each other, means that only one is correct, or both are wrong.
Christianity can never be classified into the new-aged dictum of "All Religions Are One", because of the fundamental truths that prevails throughout it
1) "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
(John 14:6)
2)"I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me; That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me.I am the LORD, and there is no other,"
(Isaiah 45:5-6)
both are words spoken by God, in the bible. And thus, by saying otherwise, God would be lying. And Christianity shouldn't even exist in the first place.
But since its Truth, by all reliable Christian/Catholic context, then it can only clash with any other religion saying otherwise.
Thus, I conclude my stand that Christianity is a singular religion that stands on its own, unable to be assimilated into any other religions without compromising the truths that make the fundamentals of Christianity.
